Learning Design Expert
Daniel is one of the UK’s most experienced and creative Learning Designers, having worked extensively for most of the UK's leading e-learning agencies over the past 15 years, plus the BBC. Daniel works both as a delivery-focused Instructional Designer producing courses, modules and scenarios on every topic imaginable, and as a Learning Consultant, providing solutions-based advice to larger clients such as Roche and GE Healthcare.
Daniel is also a heavyweight creative scriptwriter, with a lot of experience writing games (for people like the BBC, Complete Control and Attic Media - for whom he recently wrote an 'interactive feature film', presented through a games engine, partly shot on location in Bahrain); televisual content (for the BBC); infographics (for www.prezient.co.uk); and comics (in both learning and entertainment contexts).
Additionally, Daniel works as a Project Consultant for www.ufi.co.uk (a UK Investment Fund that focuses on innovative Voch-Tech – or, Vocational Tech – projects). His work there includes the use of AI in producing learning content for apprentices, online platforms to support work placements, video-based skills profiling and micro-learning provision.

Andy Lancaster has more than 25 years’ experience in learning and organisational development in commercial, technological and not-for-profit organisations and has also worked in a consultancy role.
As Head of Learning and Development Content at CIPD Andy is responsible for professional development and learning products, digital content and qualifications for L&D, coaching and mentoring, management and leadership.
Andy also plays a key role in leading the direction and delivery of CIPD’s wider new vision for L&D. He was part of the team that developed CIPD’s new L&D qualifications, oversees the Leaders in Learning Network and is helping pioneer online digital learning at the Institute.
Andy has a Master’s Degree in Instructional Design and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (FCIPD), the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI) and the Learning and Performance Institute (FLPI).
He regularly speaks at conferences, write articles on behalf of CIPD and is the co-author of the “Webinars Pocketbook”.

As an employee of the Department of Cybernetics at the Military Academy of Technology, he created database applications for the Polish Army and Ministry of Defence. In the early nineties he tied his career to ORACLE technology. Together with his team at INCHROSoft, he created and implemented several systems based on ORACLE databases and tools, among others: The "Golden Autumn" for OFE PZU-CL Transfer Agent, a system for archiving of electronic documents and digitization of agreements with hand written text recognition for OFE Skarbiec Emerytura.

The paradox of e-learning: expensive, yet at the same time cheap
Summary:
Questions and discussions about the cost of developing e-training or implementing e-learning solutions often decide whether to introduce a particular solution. The suppliers of these solutions frequently hear this question: “why is it so expensive?”, and rarely such questions are asked when buying traditional courses. It is obvious there: one has to pay for quality, trainer’s work, logistics, didactic and methodical responsibility. Hence, I am astonished by the earlier question. For the answer is simple: one has to pay for quality, the work of consultants and developers, graphic designers, animators, scriptwriters, methodologists, for didactic and methodical responsibility and preparation time. Training service is a specific kind of service in which its duplication in the traditional sense has its significant restrictions; training service in the “e” form lifts those restrictions. Buying e-learning we buy the time, the standard of content delivery, a wide range of training interactions and the freedom of participating at a specific time. I will reveal more about e-learning being cheap and expensive in my session.

If you buy traditional language courses, you waste half of your budget. You will find out how to accelerate the learning process and halve the number of lessons with a teacher at the same time. I will explain why and when e-learning is the most effective method of learning, and why Blended Learning used in the Flipped Cassroom formula is the fastest method of learning a foreign language. I will also talk about language skills that are decidedly easier to develop through e-learning, and how to create an optimal mix of language e-learning with conversation. I will present the principles of the modern eTutor Flipped Blended Learning method, which uses the largest Polish platform for learning English.
